Our 2009 season was an extremely successful year 550 teams participating between the three World Series locations, and for that, we thank you. While no program is perfect, each year based on feedback from our participants, we make every effort to correct mistakes from the previous year in an effort to bring you the finest youth baseball experience possible.
OUR 2010 AAYBA WORLD SERIES PROGRAM IS DEDICATED TO OUR FALLEN FRIEND... WES WILLMAN
Beginning with the 2010 season AAYBA will be adding an additional World Series location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In St Louis AAYBA will play host to 2-3 senior mens tournaments, and in Texas we are adding a "Platinum Elite" division for the World Series for age groups 10U-14, which is for the Major and Major Elite teams, as well as any strong AAA teams who feel they have been ranked incorrectly and are confident that they can compete at this level. At this time we will not be offering this division in our 8U & 9U age groups. For more information please visit the state page for the events by clicking on the appropriate State Flag above.
Each of our locations offer something different from the others so to be certain to click on the state flags above to find what each location can specifically offer to you, your team, and your parents. Click on the Open World Series link above to get a general overview of the program including, registration links, fees, formats, as well as loyalty and promotional discounts. We understand that in today's economy every little bit helps which is why we offer our participants many discount programs to choose from. However, most of them are dated with deadlines so be sure to view them immediately.
FLOWER MOUND, TEXAS (DALLAS)
For example, if you are seeking the best competition possible, the nicest facilities, and a large number of teams, I would recommend our Flower Mound, Texas location. Each of the last three years all age groups for Texas have gone to a waiting list and we expect nothing different for 2010. Last year (2009) we had over 100 teams on our waiting list for this event. The staff in Texas is second to none which why this tournament has become one of, if not the largest single sight World Series in the country. Last year just over 1300 games were played in this event. Texas is our only location to offer the 8U & 9U age group.
ST LOUIS, MISSOURI
Teams seeking to play a wide diversity of teams might look at our St Louis location. St Louis is the original location for the AAYBA World Series program and has many organizations sending teams to us year after year and have done so since we started back in 1989. With St Louis being located in the middle of the country you will find that teams travel from several states simply because of the easy access to the state of Missouri. For those of you looking for a wide variety of states represented I recommend our St Louis, Missouri location. St Louis is a great choice for organizations who have teams in multiple age groups with parents having two or more children playing on teams looking to travel to a post-season event. Since all age groups are played at the same location and during the same week parents can save quite a bit of money and time plus they won't have to pick which child they will get to watch and which one they must miss. For those wanting to fly on a budget, St Louis is also a hub for Southwest Airlines.
As always, opening ceremonies will take place at Busch Stadium on the field prior to a St Louis Cardinals game. All players and coaches with a paid ticket for the game will be allowed onto the field for a pre-game parade. Six players and one coach will be selected to watch batting practice from the field just behind home plate. Three players will be randomly selected to throw out the games first pitch.
ARVADA, COLORADO (DENVER)
Colorado, now entering its third year, offers a vacation setting for those who love the lakes and mountains, not to mention the low humidity. Like St Louis, last Colorado drew very well from teams outside of the state as just over 50% of the participating teams called home to a state other than Colorado. One advantage Colorado offers over Texas or St Louis is that it is scheduled one day shorter. Like St Louis, all age groups are played during the same week at the same location so it is great choice for organizations and parents with more than one child traveling to post season play. For a true family vacation mixed with baseball, I highly recommend our Arvada, Colorado World Series.
TULSA, OKLAHOMA (NEW LOCATION FOR 2010)
Beginning with the 2010 season we are proud to announce the addition of another AAYBA World Series location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We expect this to be a very attractive option for teams wanting to play in an AAYBA World Series but seeking to visit an alternate location. Games will be played at Indian Springs Sports Complex and All Star Sports Complex which is recognized as one of the finest sports complexes in the country.
