We removed the links to the Look who is Coming team list once we closed regitration. many of you have asked that we put it back online to help with pin ordering. So click below on the state your team is participating.
This is an exclusive opportunity for our event that allows participants (coaches and players) to be on Coors Field for a pre-game parade. Tickets may be purchased by anyone associated with your team for either the Pavilion (Home Run territory) or Outfield Box (1st or 3rd base line).
World Series Lodging: For our AAYBA World Series - Colorado, teams are not required to stay in our sponsoring hotels. For scheduling purposes all teams are considered in town either as a local team or an out of town team staying in a local hotel. Therefore all teams must be prepared to play when scheduled which includes rain schedules. We will not schedule around travel time for those commuting from more than an hour away.
We have secured the lowest hotel rates in order to help your experience be the best! Our hotels are within 10 miles of the complexes. For those of you booking hotels for your team, we encourage you to book early since there are a limited number of rooms available at each hotel, and we are expecting an extremely large turnout for the tournament.
Choose your preferred hotel then contact Greg Holstine at (303) 734-2370 or via email at gholstine@msn.com to receive the hotel booking code and team rooming list. Have the number of rooms needed, type of rooms, the date of arrival and the date of departure ready when calling. The hotels require the team manager/team mom to book all of your rooms at one time. This will ensure your team is co-located in the hotel.
Once the team arrives, each parent is responsible for their own payment. The team rooming list must be completed and returned within two weeks after booking rooms. When you book within 2 months of the tournament, your rooming list must be submitted within a week of your booking.
Adverse weather or rain: AAYBA may play in adverse weather conditions. However, our format may be changed to lesser time limits or less innings only, and in a worse case, a game or two could be cut from the schedule only to complete the tournament. Coaches and players accept these conditions when entering tournament.

Entry Fee & Team Paygate Fee: The entry fee for the Arvada, Colorado World Series event is $695, for a seven game format, plus as requested by the vast majority of Colorado teams instead of an individual paygate as used with all other AAYBA World Series events, we will be charging a per team pre-paid paygate of $630. The $630 pre-paid paygate covers every person associated with your team. Teams can pay this by check with their entry fee and application or they can pay with cash, money order, or cashiers check at check-in, however no team will begin play prior to payment. (See promotion discounts linked below).
PROMOTIONS AND ENTRY DISCOUNTS
With the economy struggling we realize that every dollar saved is very important to each and everyone of you which is why we have implemented the following loyalty and promotional discounts for our 2010 participants. Most of these promotions have a deadline so please act quickly.
AAYBA does not guarantee the number of teams however, due to an agreement reached with a local organization we are starting the season with a total of 40 teams already entered (8 in each age group 10U-14). We expect 24 teams in each age group.
We feel that it is important to list a "Look Who is Coming"as it allows our participants to know well in advance what type of event they will be attending. There are too many National events that play "I've got a secret" regarding their list of teams, and in most cases that is a signal that the field of teams are low and that the event is in danger of cancellation. Whether our list is big or small we let you know BEFORE you get there what you can expect. In 2009 there were several World Series events that cancelled due to lack of teams. Late in the year I spoke with many teams that were in distress because their event cancelled at the last minute. At AAYBA we will post a "Look who is Coming" as always, by no later than April 1st, 2010 for teams that have registered for all of our World Series events.
It is very important when considering a National or World Series event to find out who is attending and if they do indeed have the teams that they advertise. Do yourself a favor and print out the team list that is advertised by all of the National events you are considering, AAYBA included, and later compare them to who actually attended. You owe it to yourself and to your parents to have up to date information when choosing a post season tournament. Last year many events advertised teams that they simply did not have and in the end many teams found out too late to save their year end tournament. I assure you that we will post current and correct information, good or bad, so you can make an informed and intelligent decision regarding attending a 2010 AAYBA World Series event.
Click below for a look who is coming list as of January 31, 2010 - our next update will be on April 1)st, 2010 at which point it will be updated frequently.
DROP DOWN FORMAT
We utilize our drop down format whereas all teams will receive seven games (weather permitting) and champions will be crowned in four to five levels of play - Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze (format may be altered dependant on the number of teams entered). All rostered players from all teams will receive an award of some type as long as they are present at the awards ceremony. We will not give awards to coaches for players not present and we will not ship any awards.
Early withdrawal: Any team pulling from the event for any reason, after your entry has been received will forfeit your entry ... no exceptions.
Special Start Requests: Before entering the AAYBA World Series, make sure your team has no other conflicts during the scheduled dates. AAYBA cannot guarantee any special game time requests! Local teams especially, we cannot and will not schedule you only in the evening. Teams need to be prepared to play at the first scheduled game of the tournament and any time throughout the day until the last game of the tournament. For those of you with more than one child participating and for coaches and managers coaching more than one team ... we cannot guarantee that your teams won't be playing at the same time. Managers, be sure to have another coach ready to cover you in case your teams are playing at the same time.
All teams must supply two new balls per game.
Registration: AAYBA will not reserve any spots in any tournament without full payment. To register and pay you must complete the online registration process - upon completion of registration you will be prompted to print a hard copy of the tournament application. This application has the mailing address for AAYBA as to where to mail your check. We do not accept credit cards. Teams that register online prior will have their spot held for seven days which will enable you ample time to mail your check. However, as the tournament comes closer to filling even registering online won't hold your spot as other teams may be in the same situation and their check may arrive first. Don't delay get your entries in ASAP.
World Series schedules will not be available in advance .... Schedules will be distributed to all managers at check-in and be available online the evening prior to check-in.
Each team must also present "proof of insurance" listing AAYBA as an additional insured. I assure you this is required by all National events and the additional insured is quite common. A copy of your insurance certificate will be required at check-in. You are free to purchase insurance from any company of your choice. However, we highly recommend Chappell Insurance Agency. Their rates are quite competitive and the insurance covers you for all events that you play in for a twelve month period.
When an athlete fatigues or overuses a muscle, there is typically some type of microtear and bleeding with the muscles. Icing, or cryo-therapy is best used immediately after the injury or right after the athlete completes their performance. For example, it is recommended for a baseball pitcher, after throwing in a game or practice session, apply ice wraps immediately.
By applying the ice to the muscle group areas, the ice minimizes swelling and restricts the blood flow. The ice also reduces any pain and soreness associated with the injury or fatigue.
The Chilly-Billy™ ice compress provides a unique and patent pending apparatus that allows an athlete to put the icing jacket on, obtain effective and efficient coverage of all necessary muscle groups and it’s easy for one person to add the ice. The patented saddle compartment design and icing chute allows the ice to be added very easily. In fact, one person can fill the compartment with ice as the player is actually wearing the Chilly-Billy™ ice compress.
